I started diving and windsurfing in Alicante (Spain), during my stay as a Spanish Army officer stationed at the Spanish Special Forces Headquarters located in that city. After obtaining my Ph.D. I moved to US with a NATO scientific grant. In US I was appointed postdoctoral fellow at MIT, where I dived frequently in the Cape Cod area and also became a member of their windsurfing team. In competitive windsurfing I spent two seasons on the MIT team, participating in the US Extreme Games (X Games). Back in Spain I continued my professional career in the field of science while I continued diving and sailing. Specifically, I started sailing in Formula Windsurfing and Slalom, being appointed Secretary of the Royal Spanish Sailing Federation (RFEV) for the Formula Windsurfing Class.  In 2017 I was recognized as a Professional windsurfer and Official PWA Competitor. I must admit that when I started to race I really realized how performant is the LoftSails and Unifiber gear!

Concerning my results, in the 2016 European Slalom Championships I ranked 18 in masters. In 2017 I entered the first Professional event organized by the Professional Windsurfing Association (PWA). Thanks to everything I have learned in that event I climbed to 5th place in masters at the 2017 ISAF-IFCA European Slalom Championships, taking 1st place in the overall ranking of Spanish slalom sailors in the IFCA international slalom ranking. In 2018 and 2019 I have been the only Spanish windsurfer competing in both slalom circuits, both in the Federative windsurfing circuit (IFCA, International Funboard Class Association) and in the Professional one (PWA), being recognized as a Professional windsurfer and Official PWA Competitor. After the break that the competition suffered in 2020 due to the SARS-CoV-2 I´m back in 2021 more motivated than ever and with the support as sponsors of Bellini Surf Shop, LoftSails, GoyaBoards, Unifiber and GasoilFins!
