Windscape 7.0 HD 2026
Description
Bump & jump performance that stays easy to live with.
Bump & jump sailing is about keeping momentum.
Blasting across open water. Linking jibes through gusts. Sending a jump when the wild ramp appears.
That's the Windscape.
Designed as Loftsails' dedicated bump & jump sail, the Windscape is built for riders who want light handling, smooth power delivery, and an intuitive feel across flat water, chop, and small waves. It's the sail you rig when conditions are mixed and you want to make the most of everything on offer.
A Hybrid Shape With a Clear Purpose
The Windscape's defining characteristic is its refined hybrid outline.
Above the boom, the sail carries wave-sail DNA, delivering a light, crisp feel that responds quickly through jibes, transitions, and small maneuvers. This upper section keeps the sail agile and easy to move, helping it stay balanced when conditions are uneven.
Below the boom, the outline shifts toward freeride territory. An extended batten layout anchors the centre of effort and adds steady drive, improving tracking and efficiency when blasting on a fin. This lower section is deliberately less locked-in than a pure freeride sail, keeping the feel forgiving and responsive.
The result is a sail that blends maneuverability and drive in a way that feels natural across mixed conditions.
Smooth Drive for Mixed Conditions
Bump & jump sailing often means dealing with variability rather than extremes.
The Windscape is tuned to deliver smooth, dependable power that carries you through gusts and lulls without sudden surges or drop-offs. Its balanced luff curve keeps the sail reactive and light in transitions while maintaining forward pull when pressure builds.
That consistency helps reduce fatigue over longer sessions, especially in a shifting wind.
Light Feel, Stable Feedback
Despite its larger size range, the Windscape stays light and balanced in the hands. The upper section moves easily through stance changes and rotations, while the lower body keeps the center of effort steady when powered.
That balance translates directly to the board. You feel connected without being pulled upright, supported without being locked in, whether you're driving through chop, setting up a jibe, or loading up for a jump.
A Wide and Forgiving Wind Range
Each Windscape size is tuned to work across a broad wind range, with trim changes that produce clear, predictable differences on the water.
Trimmed soft, the sail retains more depth and delivers smooth, steady drive for early acceleration and relaxed blasting. As downhaul and outhaul are increased, the profile flattens and opens progressively, improving control over the chop.
Throughout that range, the Windscape remains balanced and easy to sail, never feeling nervous or locked-in. This ability to shift character without losing its core feel is what makes it such a dependable choice when one sail needs to cover a wide spectrum of freeride and bump & jump conditions.
Built for Regular Use
The Windscape is designed for sailors who spend time on the water regularly, not just on perfect days.
A full X-Ply construction provides durability and shape stability, reinforced by Loftsails' Integrated Panel Concept in key stress areas. A 5 mil foot panel and a robust 30 mm mast sleeve seam improve resistance to abrasion and long-term fatigue, helping the sail maintain its handling characteristics over time.
A Kevlar-reinforced laminate clew panel runs from the clew up to the batten above it, strengthening one of the most consistently loaded zones of the sail. This reduces wear both on the water and during transport and storage, keeping the sail reliable through repeated rigging and long sessions.
The construction supports frequent rigging, varied conditions, and consistent use without adding unnecessary weight or stiffness.
Windscape, Defined
The Windscape sits at the centre of the Loftsails range for a reason.
It combines wave-inspired agility with freeride-style drive, offering a balanced, versatile sail that works across flat water, chop, and small waves. It's a practical choice for riders who want one sail to handle most conditions without committing to a specialized setup.

Frequently asked questions
For 2026, Windscape is refined to improve balance, handling, and durability across mixed freeride conditions.
Aspect ratio and boom length updates reduce swing weight, while revised luff curves improve consistency through gusts and transitions. Construction updates increase longevity for frequent use without changing the sail’s forgiving character.
The Windscape is designed for bump & jump and freeride sailing in mixed conditions.
It works best on flat water, chop, and smaller waves, where wind strength and water state can change during a session. The sail delivers smooth, usable power and stays balanced as conditions shift, making it well-suited to gusty coastal spots and everyday freeride sailing.
Windscape is not a light-wind sail and not a pure wave sail. It sits in the middle, covering the conditions where you want one sail to do a lot without becoming demanding or overly specialized.
We recommended the Team Edition SDM 460, alternatively you can also use the Vision SDM 460.
The Windscape is suited to intermediate to experienced sailors.
It is approachable for intermediates because it rigs easily, feels light in the hands, and delivers smooth, predictable power. At the same time, experienced sailors appreciate its balance and control when sailing powered, jumping, or even waveriding.
The Windscape pairs naturally with bump & jump boards, freewave boards, and freeride boards in single-fin configurations. If you're taking your Windscape for a session at your local break, a thruster setup will work well, too.
The sail’s balanced shape supports both blasting and sailing that emphasizes jibes and transitions without feeling locked-in.
For dedicated wave boards, Wavescape or Purelip are more appropriate choices, while for freeride and freerace boards, Oxygen is the better match.
While all three sails can be used for freeride-style sailing, they are built for different priorities.
Windscape is the most versatile of the three. It balances maneuverability and drive, making it ideal for bump & jump sailing and mixed freeride conditions. It feels light and responsive, with enough drive for blasting while remaining forgiving and easy to handle.
Purelip is the better choice for high-wind bump & jump sessions and wave sailing when conditions are demanding. It is meant to be sailed powered up and focuses on stability, durability, and control in rough waters and gusty winds.
Oxygen is a freeride, no-cam freerace sail focused on speed and accessibility. It delivers a more locked-in feel and strong forward drive, making it well suited to flat water and long reaches.
In short, Windscape covers the widest range of everyday conditions, Purelip excels when things get physical, and Oxygen prioritizes freeride speed and efficiency.
