Downhaul tension is evenly distributed between the mast panel and mast pocket, creating a firm, clean leading edge with smooth, reliable rotation.

Raceboardblade Carbon V8 9.5
Description
The RBB ULW V8 is a super light and medium wind racing sail built around real competitive feedback — developed in close collaboration with the Loftsails Raceboard Team, sailors who tested, refined, and took the design to International Raceboard podiums. The result is a sail that generates power earlier, feels lighter through transitions, and stays responsive when conditions and competition demand it.
Earlier Power in Marginal Winds
The ULW V8's deeper profile and fuller upper section generate drive when the wind is at its lightest — promoting earlier railing when conditions are marginal. A softer upper batten complements the fuller upper profile, while the exposed tack eyelet supports on-the-fly downhaul adjustment when conditions demand it.
Light Through Transitions
A higher aspect ratio — increased mast length, reduced boom length — reduces swing weight, keeps the rig balanced through tacks and gybes, and makes pumping easier. Four TekCam 3s, 35% lighter than the previous generation, stabilise the upper profile and push it forward without adding weight to the rig.
Carbon ULW V8 — Stretch Resistance for the Upper Wind Range
Available in 9.5 m², the Carbon ULW V8 is identical in design and weight to the standard ULW V8. The difference is material: 2 mil carbon X-Ply replaces the standard quad-axial body panels, with carbon threads along the warp lines preventing stretch. The profile holds its designed shape more consistently as conditions build — a measurable advantage in the middle and upper wind range.
Trim Reactive Across the Wind Range
The ULW V8 responds clearly to downhaul and outhaul adjustments, allowing the sailor to manage the profile as conditions shift through a race or between heats. Side-alternating X-Ply batten pockets with triple scrim adhesive applications maintain rotation neutrality — the profile behaves consistently on both tacks, heat after heat.
The Advantage in Light Wind Racing
The RBB ULW V8 is for competitors who race in super light and medium wind and want a sail that responds to their input, generates power early, and stays light and precise when the race demands it.
Developed on the water, proven on racecourses, results on podiums!
