Purelip: When the conditions get challenging — gusty or at the upper wind range — the Purelip inspires confidence with its stable profile and refined batten structure. Its wide wind range really shines in core conditions, giving you the feeling that the sail has your back when it matters most. Whether it’s a bump & jump session or a full-on stormy day, the Purelip always delivers.

Description

High-wind control you can rely on.

Strong-wind sailing doesn't wait for perfect timing.

Gusts hit unevenly. Chop builds fast. Landings load the rig hard. Whether you're blasting between ramps or riding powered waves, the sail has to stay composed when conditions stay heavy.

That's where the Purelip is designed to work.

Refined through more than two decades of development, the Purelip is built for riders who sail powered, push hard, and expect their equipment to stay stable and predictable in challenging conditions.

Control Under Sustained Load

The Purelip is shaped to remain balanced when fully powered.

For 2026, higher aspect ratios shorten boom lengths and improve leverage, while re-scheduled luff curves and revised batten angles move power and weight lower in the sail. The result is a calmer, more settled feel in the hands, particularly at the upper end of the wind range.

From 3.7 and up, the 5-batten layout delivers the stability required for strong-wind sailing, keeping the profile consistent when the wind builds.

Drive That Stays Manageable

In high wind, usable power matters more than peak power.

The Purelip maintains forward drive without becoming aggressive or nervous, allowing you to sail powered without constantly adjusting stance or trim. The sail stays predictable through gusts, transitions, and hard landings, supporting control rather than forcing correction.

Built to Take Repeated Impact

Strong-wind sailing is hard on equipment.

New dual Kevlar clew radials reinforce one of the most heavily loaded zones of the sail, maintaining profile integrity under repeated stress from jumps, landings, and gusts. Standing Battens provide stiffness and upper-end support while offering greater resilience than traditional tube battens in wave and bump conditions.

A full X-Ply, monofilm-free construction, combined with 5 mil foot panels, 2 mil quad-axial upper panels, and a 30 mm mast panel seam, significantly increases resistance to abrasion and long-term wear.

This is a sail designed to keep working when conditions stay physical.

Tuning That Holds Its Shape

The Purelip offers a broad tuning range, but its defining quality is how well it holds trim under load.

Dual clew eyelets and micro battens allow fine adjustment of leech tension and response, while the sail's structure ensures that once trimmed, the profile remains stable — even when sailing firmly overpowered.

You set it up. You commit. And it stays where you expect it to.

Functional Minimalism

The 2026 Purelip adopts a cleaner, more functional panel layout.

By removing excess marker cloth and unnecessary scrim, swing weight is reduced, and the sail's balance is improved, without sacrificing strength where it matters most.

Purelip, Defined

The Purelip 2026 is built for riders who sail in strong wind, ride powered, and expect their sail to stay composed when conditions don't ease up.

Stable. Durable. Predictable.

A high-wind tool you can rely on when control matters more than finesse.

Frequently asked questions

Use the FAQ section to answer your customers' most frequent questions.

What is the Purelip designed for?

The Purelip is a hardcore wave sail engineered for radical riding in powerful surf and high-wind situations, performing well in both sideshore and onshore setups. Its primary design focus is stability and durability, specifically built to handle brutal poundings in breaking surf and demanding conditions. It is categorized as a wave/bump & jump sail.

What is new on the 2026 Purelip ?

The Purelip design features recalibrated luff curves and batten angle re-orientation to enhance control, stability, and responsiveness. The general philosophy across the 2026 line involves "dropping of the batten angles," making the sail feel lighter in the hands

The aesthetic for 2026 across the Loftsails range is called "functional minimalism," involving minimal applications of graphics to reduce waste, lighten the sail, and enhance long-term durability

What is the difference between Purelip and the Wavescape?

The Purelip is built for high-wind, hardcore wave conditions think powerful surf, sideshore setups, and bump blasting where stability and durability are non-negotiable.

The Wavescape focuses on down-the-line wave riding with an emphasis on lightness, maneuverability, and pure wave expression. If you're charging through breaking waves in nuking conditions, the Purelip is your sail.

If you're carving down clean wave faces and prioritizing flow and precision, the Wavescape is calling your name.

What the recommended mast for the Purelip 4.2 HD Blue 2026 ?

We recommended the Team Edition 370 RDM, alternatively you can also use the Vision III C75 RDM 370.

What type of board can I use the Purelip with?

The Purelip's wide tuning range and versatile design make it compatible with wave boards, freeride boards, and bump & jump boards

How does the sail perform across different wind strengths?

It features a broad tuning range and delivers unbelievable performance in the upper end when trimmed correctly. Conversely, if you trim it soft, you gain 4x4 power for light wind.
