The Loft Blade enjoys three years of research and development that has resulted in unique racing designs; accessible high-performance.
Blades are specific to rdm masts from 8.5 down. Rdm masts are far superior regarding reliability (sdm masts are thin walled and do not resist cam wear!) and aerodynamics as they create a slim and efficient leading edge.
The Loft Blades enjoy superb, complete cam rotation. This is the result of rdm masts and our new exclusive Blade mast pocket construction that results in equalized loading of the mast panel and mast pocket.

The Blade 08 include new multiple Kevlar load-bearing strips (horizontal and vertical!) that maintain incredible rig stability and rotation ease.
The Blade is accessible high-performance… The Loft presented the Blade in 07, winning two 2007 World titles (Valerie Ghibaudo, ISA World Speed Champion 2007 & IFCA Slalom World Champion 2007).
The Blade is cutting-edge upper-end speed with an easy, light feeling.

Progressive: The Blade 08 is engineered with:

  • Internal Kevlar strip applications that define shape profile and maintain shape stability.
  • Alternate side batten pocket application
  • D/P C254 narrow 5mil Xply mast panel.
  • D/P T-725 4mil Xply mast pocket sides
  • Stepped x-ply application.
  • Molded thermo-foam mast/board pad with roll-up strap, line pouch, tack handle, tack strap and uphaul port.
  • 6 tubed battens sizes 5.1 to 6.2, 7 tube battens sizes 6.8 to 8.5, all sizes include “Super tubes”; 100% carbon pressure-cured battens.
  • Soft molded pvc foot edge, foot 2ply and cross-batten pvc protectors.
  • Sensitip head batten system.
  • Metallic cam interfaces

 The Loft | Blade Tested
- Planchemag 2007 preview: Blade 6.2

“An Ultra-Stable Hot-Rod… this sail stands out for its very high build quality… the lightest breeze is translated into acceleration, with such a stable profile that the draft doesn’t budge in gusts or lulls… sailors looking for a maximum of power/stability will be ecstatic, especially in light to medium winds… is capable of going head-to-head with the heavyweights in the market.”

- SURF magazine Holland 2007 preview: Blade 6.8

“The Blade is remarkably controllable and its “breathing” capacity is due to the use of RDM mast is very big. NO excessive downhaul is needed, which makes the sails user friendly.
The cambers rotate with a smile (very good!), The Blade feels like a rough diamond.”
