Soft trim (reduced from the printed mast&boom lengths) directly powers-up Loftsails for light wind conditions with sail shape that powers from head to foot. Firm trim (setting the sail at the printed mast&boom lengths) sets Loftsails optimally for the mid-to-upper wind range with a slim body and easy handling... the sail shape is flat, free, and easy.

Development of The Loft sail designs is a process beginning on the water. Monty Spindler and the Loft team windsurf... on-the-water evaluations create visions of what can be. New designs are prototyped at the Tarifa -Spain [Loftsails R&D location] and go into Loft team/pairs tests with variables minimized. Only on-the-water testing can reveal design quality. Proven designs go to The Loft production facility.
