Report from Yann Terrien- AFF/FFV, the final event of the 07 French windsurf tour 1-7 November 2007, Wimereux, France.
We had a really nice week, 3 sunny days with no wind, 2 days for slalom, 1 day for waves, and some good fun!
The first days there was no wind, but it was sunny and there was a lot of people passing by, so we organized a public presentation of ourselves and our equipment… on the mike please!
The next days the wind picked up. The 1st windy day we completed 7 slalom races. I finished 21st, which is acceptable for me as it was my first slalom competition ever (and actually one of my first time on a slalom board)! I used a Loft Sails Blade 7,5m2, and I was really happy with it. The sail is fast and easy, just what I needed! Now I'm really looking forward to the next competition, to do better!

The last day the wind was a bit stronger, with some small waves, so we went to Wissant to do the wave competition (the only one of the year, because we had no waves in the previous events). First heat at 9h30 in the morning, it was cold out there! I rigged my Loft Sails Lip Wave 4,7m2, and everything went well. The wind was port tack and a bit onshore, so I was feeling really comfortable (it was really similar to the conditions that I'm used to in Pozo Izquierdo, but with less wind). I made it to the quarterfinals, then the wind dropped when I was going to start my heat against the top French rider Nicolas Akgazciyan. End of the competition!
I finished 1st ex-aequo with Florent Renard, Fred Jézéquel, Nicolas Reynes, Mathieu Bonno, Yann Rifflet, Yann Sune and Nicolas Akgazciyan... I'm quite happy about it!
Now I'm back in the Canary Islands, Pozo Izquierdo, and I train hard for the 2008 events (French tour, Canarian wave tour, ...)
Bye!
Yann F-44 :-)
