Loft team rider Fernando Martinez won the Spanish
Cup 2002 formula circuit with the O2+, a dedicated
Formula Racing design from The Loft.
Dateline Andalucia March
2003 We had the first Formula event in Spain last weekend. The
event was the 3rd IASF International Carnaval Regatta, a "test event" for
the Cadiz Olympic Sailing World Championships this autumn. Location:
Puerto Sherry, Bahia de Cadiz, March 6th-9th 2003. 24 entries, Germany,
Finland, Portugal and of course Spain had competitors in the event.
Winds Friday and Saturday were frustrating as all
the classes except Formula were on the water racing. With just 3-4 knots even the light guys on 12.5s were not
planning.
On Sunday 9th March 3 races were run in moderately
strong Levante winds, 16-24knots. Fernando Martinez and Monty Spindler
used The Loft 2003 O2+ Formula Racing 11.0m2 sails for the first
race.
Fernando changed down to the 9.9 for the second
and third races, Monty stayed with the O2+ 11.0 For the 3rd race the winds moderated somewhat down to 15-20
knots.
Formula Windsurfing results for races 1, 2, and 3.

Raid des îles
In September 2002 The Loft sponsored a raid on
Montecristo, Corse, and Sardegna from Porto Santo Stefano
near Orbetello, Italy.
Alain Gabet and Bruno Lefebvre windsurfed across 250Km of
open seas using a sail quiver containing pairs of Lip 4.1
& 5.0 and O2 6.6, 8.4 & 10.8 sails.
"The success of this raid is due to Loft sails which
provide high perfomance over a wide range of use."
