RAID LA TRANCHE - ILE DE Ré / French Long Distance Championship July 20 2008.

"Nice weather, really sunny and good wind to validate this well-attended race from La Tranche, crossing to the Island of Ré, the race distance 22 Kilometres!
The start went at 15:00 on the beach of La Tranche for the 356 competitors.  There was a "LeMans" start- all the racers running to their equipment, then full speed into the water and on to the Island.  I did not start well,  I collided with another competitor… but I came back to second place at the first mark of the race behind Pierre Mortefon.
At the first jibe near the Island I lead, with more than 100 meters on Pierre.
I ran ahead during the run back to La Tranche, increasing my distance to the other racers, then winning the race with a comfortable lead- AND a new race record!  Florent Renard set the old race record last year.

Incredible speed with my LOFT BLADE 9.5 and my MISTRAL SL 135!!!… this was only the second time I ride this equipment , I am very surprised at the ease, and potential of my equipment!"

"Dimanche 20 juillet a eu lieu le raid la Tranche sur mer / Ile de ré. Des conditions parfaites pour établir un record de la traversée, 15 / 20 n?uds tout au long du parcours avec un grand soleil.

Le départ de la course est prévu vers les 15H ? la tranche sur mer, 356 compétiteurs se positionne sur la plage pour aller rejoindre au top départ leurs matériels au bord de l'eau et ensuite partir en direction de l'ile de ré.
Je ne prends pas un super départ d? ? un accrochage avec un autre compétiteur, mais tr?s vite je rattrape le retard perdu pour me positionner ? la deuxi?me place ? ? du parcours. Arrivé ? la bouée de l'ile de ré, je suis en t?te avec 100 M d'avance sur Pierre Mortefon. Sur le retour, je recroise toute la flotte et je continu ? prendre de l'avance et enfin arrivé ? la premi?re place sur la plage de la tranche sur mer.

Je détiens le record de vitesse qui était détenu l'année derni?re par Florent Renard.

J'ai utilisé ma 9.5 Loft et ma Mistral SL 135. Pour une deuxi?me navigation sur cette voile et cette planche, je suis super content de constater que le matériel est tr?s simple d'utilisation et d'adaptation! "
