The Loft | Tarifa Classic event May 1-4

The event was held at the Arte Vida hotel sponsored by the Tarifa town hall and the Junta de Andalucia.   Levante winds and the Andaluz sun provided ideal conditions as large crowds enjoyed the action.
This was the third event of the Campeonato de Espana de Windsurf  www.tarifaclassic.com
There is one more event on the Campeonato de Espana de Windsurf calendar- the TWF http://www.tarifawindsurfingfestival.es/EN/index.htm next Christmas.

All the slalom racing was run in front of the Arte Vida.  The early slalom rounds were run in gusty offshore winds from 10 to 25 knots.  The last slalom round saw the winds drop to 8-15knots.
Andy dominated the racing with his perfect starting technique and unbeatable speed with the Blade 7.5.  Monty was hot on his heels with his Blade 6.8 and a pair of 2nd place finishes in the senior's slalom.
One masters (35years+) heat was run, Monty taking the win with 12 masters racing.

The freestyle heats were then run at La Jaima and Casa de Porro in stronger winds, the competitors were using 4.7s and 5.2s. There was excellent action in the freestyle!
Silvia Alba won the women's freestyle with ease- and placed 4th in the men's freestyle rankings!

The last slalom round was contested in Levante winds that were sideshore and lighter- the racers going for 7.5s with the exception of Andy who went for his Blade 8.5.  In the final it was Andy who took the win,  Monty finished second riding a 2008 O2 7.4.
