The Loft | Surfexcursion to the south of Portugal and Spain from Jelle Caers

In April we decided to go from our home in Belgium to Tarifa for the first EFPT event; the “Toro Andaluz”.  The wind forecast was better in Sagres, Portugal, so at the last moment we decided to visit that spot too.
We couldn't complain!  Every day I sailed with the 5.2 Lip Wave and my F2 Chilli with the TFC-fin Freestyle 18.  The weather was superb and the environment beautiful… we will definitely return there!   We stayed in Sagres for 4 days, and left then for Tarifa.

We arrived in Tarifa one day before the event, and while doing a Ponch I landed wrong and injured my foot- No EFPT Toro Andaluz for me!
The very last day of the event, my foot began to recover, so during the supersession I tried to surf again.

The days after that we were able to do some nice surfing as well, and visited a lot of different spots- Bolonia, Punta Paloma, Los Lances and Playa Chica.  Every day we were able to surf with sails that varied from a 5.2 (during the less windy Poniente) to a 3.9 or a 3.4 (during the heavy Levante).
Excellent visit, and we were able to get some nice photographs!
Many regards from Jelle!

Thanks to Noella Caers for the photos.
